Hamlet, the Prince of Denmark and Argentinian Tango; in this heterogeneous mixture of Art, Sayaka Motani, educated in the land of Shakespeare and having been surrounded with Argentinian Tango as a member of establishment team of Tokyo’s renowned Argentinian Tango Bar “El-Choclo”, saw a solid mutuality between the two. The play consisting the sound of Shakespeare, the original Japanese texts, Argentinian Tango and Noh dance, is topped with a rare ensemble for this genre of music; Acoustic Guitar, Trumpet, Baritone Saxophone, and Percussion. Far from the stereotype, this multi-cultural Shakespeare play, drawn out as one entity will be performed at Kawamata hall by the port of Yokohama, provoking the imagery of Buenos Aires where Argentinian Tango was originated.
