07. ARGENTINE CHAIR AT SEISEN UNIVERSITY

Seisen University is located in the Shinagawa district of Tokyo. It is a private university whose origins date back to the 1950s. The institution has a historical connection with Argentina through Sister Ernestina Ramallo y Gradin, an Argentine nun who dedicated several years to her work in Japan.

At Seisen University, the Argentine Chair annually conducts activities to bring Argentina closer to the local academic community and, more generally, to Japanese society.

The most recent activity conducted under the Argentine Chair took place in December 2025. It was a presentation about Argentina, focusing on Japan's commemoration of the 140th anniversary of Japanese immigration to Argentina. For more details about the activity, it is recommended to visit the publication by this Embassy titled: "Argentine Chair" at Seisen University (Tokyo), December 23, 2025
